Mike Barrett is a Realtor with Smith & Associates who brings more than 22 years of residential real estate experience to buyers and sellers throughout Palm Harbor, Dunedin, Clearwater, Tarpon Springs, and Safety Harbor, Florida. Mike’s approach to real estate was shaped long before he entered the industry. After earning a BS in Business Management from East Tennessee State University, he spent two years in Swaziland, Africa, with the Peace Corps, working as a small-business consultant to local tradespeople. The experience strengthened his communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills while giving him a perspective that continues to influence the way he works with people.
His professional background also includes resort management and sales positions in the ski industry before moving to Palm Harbor in 1987. He later worked as a territory manager for Bauer/Nike Hockey, where he developed extensive sales, branding, and promotional experience. Those years in competitive sales helped establish the attention to detail, follow-through, and client communication that remain central to his real estate business.
For more than two decades, Mike has represented both buyers and sellers in residential real estate. He holds the GRI (Graduate of the Realtor Institute) designation and has been recognized as a top-producing residential agent in his office. His clients often point to his availability, persistence, and communication as qualities that make the experience different.
